The Role

In your role as Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration, support, and maintenance of our on-premise and cloud information technology infrastructure. You will be instrumental in ensuring optimal uptime of all IT infrastructure by performing daily proactive event monitoring and regular systems maintenance according to our downtime schedule.  As an experienced IT professional, you will also use your extensive knowledge of Microsoft platforms (e.g. Office, Teams, Sharepoint etc.)  to support the various business functions across Australia and the USA.  You will work closely with the software team and support our internal team and clients with IT system support related to queries and incidents on a day-to-day basis.

The role involves:

  • Commissioning, maintaining and decommissioning hypervisors, virtual servers and networking infrastructure
  • Administration and maintenance of all internal software platforms
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, and printers
  • Timely response to local or remote service and support requests across the company
  • User account administration on all software platforms
  • Planning and executing new initiatives to extend our capabilities
  • Maintaining data security and availability across our systems
  • Documenting processes and procedures

Minimum Criteria

The following skills and experience are required for this role:

  • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold a working visa
  • A relevant qualification from a reputable education organisation (e.g. Bachelor of Computer Science) or relevant experience
  • Experience in administering Microsoft software and platforms
  • Experience with on-prem VMWare products and public cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure)
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft software, and Microsoft 365 SaaS products
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience in communicating with clients and service providers
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with any of M-Files, Sharepoint, Zabbix, Veeam, pfSense, Unifi, ESXi and 3CX

Favourable Criteria

The following skills and experience will also be favoured:

  • Experience with Linux operating systems
  • Experience with basic database administration
