Trophon®2 is the latest innovation in ultrasound probe high level disinfection (HLD), focusing on protecting patients and using smart data integration to enhance hospital workflows.
Ultrasound probes need to be properly disinfected to protect patients. The process has to meet varying regulatory requirements and needs to be documented for traceability. Traditionally, this process involves time-consuming handwritten records and manual disinfections methods that may expose users to toxic chemicals. Trophon®2 was developed to ensure consistent and reproducible HLD to help hospital staff meet ultrasound probe HLD standards and keep patients safe from cross-infection.
Trophon®2 is a significant upgrade to Nanosonics’ high level disinfector. It introduces a new intuitive touch screen interface, and RFID based consumable monitoring. It also performs digital record keeping and seamlessly integrates with hospital IT systems. Trophon®2’s has also proven to eliminate an extended range of clinically infectious pathogens, offering effective bactericidal, fungicidal and viricidal protection.
Ingenuity was commissioned to develop Trophon®2’s GUI electronics, embedded software and production test systems. Working with the Nanosonics team, we were able to take part in developing a product that is easy to use, enhances hospital workflows and is compliant to medical device standards.
